Portraits Built Around the
Self You Want to Express

A creative portrait experience is a custom collaboration built around who you are,
who you imagine yourself to be, or what you are ready to express.
Through consultation, planning, photography, and digital finishing,
we shape a portrait concept that is personal, cinematic,
expressive, and entirely your own.

  • These sessions are for people who want something more personal than a traditional portrait.
You may want to explore confidence, beauty, power, fantasy, vulnerability, sensuality,
darkness, romance, or a hidden side of yourself that everyday life rarely makes room for.

The result may be subtle or theatrical, natural or surreal, intimate or cinematic.

    The direction begins with you.

  • Creative Portrait Experiences are for people who are drawn to expressive, imaginative, and personally meaningful images. You do not need modeling experience, a finished idea, or a specific “look” to begin.

    • feel more confident in front of the camera

    • explore an alter ego or hidden self

    • create a fantasy, mythic, gothic, or cinematic portrait

    • express beauty, power, vulnerability, romance, or mystery

    • create something more personal than a conventional portrait

    • collaborate on an image that feels like artwork, not just a photograph

    • develop a portrait around a character, mood, symbol, or story

  • Some clients arrive with detailed references, costumes, characters, or visual inspirations. Others arrive with only a feeling: powerful, haunted, elegant, sensual, strange, romantic, heroic, vulnerable, transformed.

Both are welcome. The free consultation is where we begin turning that feeling into a visual direction.

You can bring a concept, a Pinterest board, a piece of clothing, a favorite image, a character idea, or nothing more than curiosity.

Possible Creative Directions

The portrait work continues after the camera work is done.

Digital finishing may include retouching, colour grading, atmospheric effects, compositing, background work, or other image-building techniques that help complete the final concept.

The goal is not to erase who you are. It is to shape the image into the world, mood, or version of yourself we set out to create.

Confidence & Empowerment

Portraits built around strength, presence, beauty, self-possession, and the feeling of being seen in a more powerful way.

Hidden Self / Alter Ego

Portraits built around strength, presence, beauty, self-possession, and the feeling of being seen in a more powerful way.

Fantasy, Myth & Character

Goddesses, witches, spirits, vampires, queens, warriors, fae, ghosts, saints, mermaids, invented characters, and personal archetypes.

Dark & Atmospheric

Gothic, haunted, horror-inspired, shadowed, mysterious, romantic, or emotionally intense imagery.

Composite & Surreal Portraits

Portraits enhanced or transformed through digital imaging, compositing, atmosphere, and cinematic finishing.

The Expressive Body

Adult-only body-based fine art portraiture using form, fabric, shadow, veil, implied nudity, and vulnerability as part of personal expression.

  • My role is not simply to photograph you. I help develop the idea with you, identify what the image may need, suggest visual directions, discuss wardrobe and props, guide you during the session, and complete the final piece through digital finishing.

You remain part of the process. Your comfort, curiosity, boundaries, and personal meaning shape the direction from the beginning.

  • Depending on the concept, your Creative Portrait Experience may include:

    • a free consultation

    • concept development

    • mood and reference discussion

    • wardrobe and prop guidance

    • location planning

    • guided posing and direction

    • portrait photography

    • retouching and digital finishing

    • compositing or atmospheric editing

    • digital delivery of finished images

Wardrobe, props, special makeup, and styling elements are usually sourced by the client, with guidance and suggestions provided during planning.

  • Many of these portraits continue after the camera work is done. Digital finishing may include retouching, colour grading, atmospheric effects, compositing, background work, or other image-building techniques that help complete the final concept.

The goal is not to erase who you are. It is to shape the image into the world, mood, or version of yourself we set out to create.

  • Because every creative portrait project is different, pricing is custom quoted after a free consultation. A simple expressive portrait may require a very different level of planning and finishing than a complex fantasy, composite, or cinematic concept.

The consultation helps define the scope, creative direction, practical needs, and level of digital finishing before a quote is prepared.

  • I am based in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and work with clients across Southern Alberta and Southwestern Saskatchewan. Travel, location-based sessions, and special destination concepts can be discussed as part of the consultation.

I have accepted work in Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Swift Current and Washington DC.

Start With a Conversation

Every project is different, but many Creative Portrait Experiences begin in one of these directions.
